Mabey Hire Services operates a range of hydraulic jacking systems, pressuring and monitoring equipment. The
Hymat Jack was developed by Mabey engineers specifically for the bridge
jacking market with capacities aligned with those of the Mat-75 System. The jack is
constructed from aluminium for ease of handling and is equipped with a locking collar so that loads are supported
mechanically once the desired preload or lift is acheived. The hydraulic capacity of the Hymat Jack is 750kN, the
locked off capacity is 1500kN.
The PR050 Jack is designed for use with the Superprop System. Up to four of these aluminium bodied 500kN
capacity jacks can be positioned around the head or base units to provide up to 2000kN lifting capacity per prop. Our range
of hydraulic jacks include low height units for bearing shelf jacking and a stock of high capacity units for high load requirements.
Alongside the hydraulic units Mabey Hire Services offers the Titan Mechanical Jack as a striking device for loads up
to 500kN. We also carry a stock of Harjacks that are available for hire or as part of a design and supply package.
The Harjack is a mechanical unit that can be used to accurately lift or preload up to 100kN.
Our bridge jacking range is backed up by a comprehensive range of pressurising equipment including hoses, manifolds and pumps
ranging from simple hand pumps to multi-outlet synchronised units. Distance monitoring can be provided using traditional DTI
gauges fixed to the structure or by more complex computer-monitored draw wire potentiometers.
Mabey Hire Services' engineering team has recently developed a computer-controlled lifting system that can not only monitor
and report on a lift but can control pressures and distances to ensure that the structure remains within tolerances at all
times during the lift. This system has been used successfully to monitor the position of existing structures and any settlement
caused by tunneling directly beneath the existing foundations.
The Mabey Hire Services Climbing Jack system has been used successfully in the UK and Europe for the lifting
and lowering of entire 1500 tonne bridge decks distances in excess of 2m.
