The BarrierGuard 800 has undergone extensive full scale testing and complies with BS EN 1317 containment levels H2, N1 and N2 and meets the standards for temporary steel barriers under the Highways Agency document IRRRS Chapters 2 and 7.

Deflection tables taken from those tests are provided below:

Speed (mph) 20 30 40 50 60 70 80
Speed (kph) 32 48 64 80 96 112 128
Deflection (m) 0.08 0.18 0.33 0.51 0.73 1.00 1.31
Working Width W2 W2 W3 W4 W4 W5 W6

The above deflection figures are achieved using a barrier anchored at each end.

The calculation for the deflections at different velocities was taken using the basic formula from BS6779 which states that

d2 = d1 / (V12 / V22)

where d is the deflection of the barrier and

V is the velocity of the impact vehicle.
